Background

I previously studied Psychology, getting my Bachelor's at Morehead State University in rural Morehead, KY. It was there I developed an interest in Human Factors Engineering, which led to my involvement in lab research surrounding self driving cars, FDA medication labeling, and working memory capacity.
Continuing my educational journey, I recently received by Masters degree in Human Computer Interaction in the MS-HCI program at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. At Georgia Tech, I was able to lead UX research efforts on a number of projects (found on my Portfolio page). Ultimately, my thesis project partner and I were recognized with an Outstanding Project Award for our work on our Master's Thesis project entitled From Inside the Nest To Beyond: Maintaining Empty Nester - Family Connections. Check out this project on my Portfolio page!

In terms of career, I am interested in working for a company that values inclusivity, sustainability, and encourages individual growth. At Georgia Tech, I worked as a UX researcher in the Ka Moamoa lab. The students and staff in this lab, as well as the MS HCI program, have illustrated that values of sustainability, justice, and equity can exist and even be elevated by the platform of technology. I hope to never settle for less than these things.

In my personal life, I enjoy running, traveling, going to concerts, and caring for my toothless kitty named Phoebe as well as my plants.

Fun fact: I was recently given the title of "Plant Doctor" as a MS HCI program superlative 🌱
